Retiring in Cyprus gave Dalit and her husband a reason to start something new: a little shop in Paphos where visitors can find unusual clothes and share their stories. In this conversation with Katerina, Dalit explains why making people happy matters as much as making a little money.
The interview was recorded in December 2025 and published on 11 October 2026. Prices and the shop’s opening-week offers belong to the recording, rather than a current price list.
From Israel and Liverpool to Paphos
Dalit was born in Israel and lived in Liverpool for most of her life before moving to Cyprus. Sitting outside in mid-December, she points to the sea and the sunny weather as things she enjoys about her new home. The conversation is her experience of retirement, rather than a guide to pensions or residence permits.
Opening the shop creates everyday encounters. Had she stayed at home, she says, she would not have met Katerina. Some customers come to browse; others are lonely and simply want to say hello. Both Dalit and her husband are retired, and the business gives them new stories and connections.
Clothes and crafts chosen in small quantities
Dalit sources items from places including Italy, Budapest and India. She visits wholesalers and looks for things she has not seen elsewhere. Most purchases are one or two of each item: she likes the idea that a customer can wear something unusual rather than the same outfit as everyone else.
The conversation includes arts and crafts, different clothing sizes from extra small to extra-extra large, and natural fabrics such as cotton and silk. Her approach is guided by the design and by how the wearer feels.
Personal style, colour and comfort
For Dalit, the important thing is not simply the clothes, but the feeling they create. Turquoise is her favourite colour: it appears in her accessories and around the shop. Wearing a colour she loves can make her happy, and she enjoys seeing customers find that feeling too.
On the rack tour, she shows soft coats chosen with Cyprus’s climate in mind: comfortable without being too hot. The interview also has an unplanned visitor, a cat she jokingly accuses of owing the shop money.
What the prices in the video mean
During the shop’s first week, Dalit had a rail of items at €15. She shows a coat at €32 and a plush poncho at approximately €34. These are examples from December 2025, not an offer valid today.
Where to find Good Taste Gallery
Dalit names her Facebook page as Good Taste Gallery Paphos. The video description also links to The Good Taste Gallery website and Instagram. Check those channels for current stock, opening hours and prices.
The story is about building a satisfying daily life after moving abroad: choosing things with care, hearing other people’s experiences and creating a place where conversation can begin.
