Short answer: Compare the exact school, campus, year group and qualification. The IB’s directory confirms particular programme authorisations; provider fee schedules give dated prices. A school’s name, a parent’s recommendation or a general annual-fee range is not enough to make the decision.
This guide summarises published programme information, checked on 3 October 2026. For registration and compulsory-school ages, see the education guide. For other city options, see the international-school directory.
What programmes do these schools publish?
| School | Published programme information | Primary reference |
|---|---|---|
| The Island Private School of Limassol | IB Primary Years (PYP), Middle Years (MYP), Diploma (DP) and Career-related (CP) programmes | IB directory |
| Trinity Private School | IB MYP and DP | IB school record |
| PASCAL secondary schools in Lefkosia, Larnaka and Lemesos | IB DP listed separately for each school | IB directory |
| Foley’s School | Broadly follows the UK National Curriculum, adapted for international pupils; IGCSE and A-level examinations | School’s description |
| Heritage Private School secondary | IGCSE/GCSE in Years 10–11; GCE AS and A Levels in Years 12–13 | School’s curriculum |
| American Academy Larnaca senior | GCSE/IGCSE in Years 4–5; A Levels in Years 6–7 | School’s curriculum |
Year numbering differs between providers. Ask how your child’s age, prior schooling and subjects map to the proposed class. Check which subjects will actually run and which awarding body issues each qualification.
Island and Trinity: what should I check?
The IB directory lists Island’s PYP, MYP, DP and CP. Island’s own website also describes Montessori from pre-primary to Grade 4 and lists a Technology Leaders of the Future scholarship programme. Its main campus is in Palodia, Limassol. Ask about the entry conditions, programme, support and any scholarship application separately.
The IB’s Trinity record lists MYP authorisation on 11 April 2025 and DP authorisation on 13 March 2026. It lists English for DP and English and Russian for MYP. Those programme-specific records do not mean every school stage has the same curriculum or language stream.
Confirm your child’s exact stage and stream with the school. Ask about subject continuity and assessment if transferring between programmes; do not assume that an IB label or a parent’s report of a transfer establishes admission eligibility.
PASCAL: which campus and fee schedule?
PASCAL’s fee page provides separate schedules for Lefkosia, Larnaka and Lemesos, with different links by level and campus. The IB directory lists DP for each of its three named secondary schools. Check the actual course offered to your child rather than treating the entire group as a single programme.
A specific price example: Lefkosia Secondary School’s 2026–2027 schedule, updated on 15 December 2025, lists Year 1 annual tuition of €9,300. Its Year 1 corresponds to UK Year 7. This is not an all-inclusive price or a price for other PASCAL campuses and levels.
The schedule excludes uniforms, books except those provided free by the Ministry, school transport and participation in activities such as competitions and conferences. External examination fees other than GL Assessment are charged separately. Read the full schedule for compulsory and optional charges, payment commitments, withdrawal and refund conditions before signing.
Foley’s, Heritage and American Academy Larnaca
Foley’s own description identifies it as a private independent school with English as its language of instruction. It broadly follows the UK National Curriculum with adaptations for international pupils and prepares for IGCSEs and A Levels. Ask about the particular year group and its language-support arrangements.
Heritage’s secondary curriculum describes Key Stage 4 in Years 10–11 ending in IGCSE/GCSE examinations and Key Stage 5 in Years 12–13 ending in GCE AS and A Levels. Ask which subjects and combinations are available for the intended intake.
The name “American Academy” does not establish an American curriculum. The American Academy Larnaca curriculum describes GCSE/IGCSE study in Years 4–5 and A Levels in Years 6–7; it also describes its School Apolytirion. This is the Larnaca institution’s information, not a statement about every similarly named school.
How should I compare the full cost?
Request a written quotation for the same academic year, age and programme from each school. Compare tuition alongside registration, deposits, books, uniform, examinations, meals, transport, learning support, activities and any boarding arrangements. Ask which charges are compulsory and whether payments are refundable or transferable.
Island’s fee page links its Palodia 2026–2027 schedule and says its displayed tuition includes a 30% discount until the permanent campus is ready. Confirm that condition and the applicable quoted amount rather than assuming the advertised price is permanent.
PASCAL’s €9,300 example above is one named year group and campus. It cannot establish a national minimum, maximum or “typical” private-school fee. For camps and optional programmes, request the dated offer for the particular session, age, hours and inclusions.
How should I judge reviews and reputation?
Treat an individual parent’s experience as a personal account. Ask when it happened, which campus and year group it concerned, and whether it addresses your child’s needs. Cross-check practical details with the provider.
Visit shortlisted schools and ask about teaching, support, safeguarding, subject availability and how concerns are handled. Assess the commute from your own home at the relevant time. Do not turn anonymous comments, transfer stories or a provider’s marketing into an independent ranking.
Check admission and transfer requirements before paying or withdrawing from another school. Ask about assessment, available places and any waiting list. Request a visit or tour rather than assuming every school holds a particular open day.
What about public-school alternatives?
The Ministry’s primary-school information says public primary attendance is free and compulsory for resident children of all nationalities, regardless of immigration status. Check the appropriate educational region, class placement and language support with the school. See the education guide for age and registration conditions.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best private school in Cyprus?
Choose for your child’s age, language needs, subjects, support and budget. This guide compares published programmes and fees; it does not establish a best-school ranking. Visit your shortlisted schools and check the particular campus and year group.
How much does Pascal school cost in Cyprus?
PASCAL publishes separate schedules by campus and level. Its Lefkosia Secondary School 2026–2027 schedule lists Year 1 tuition at €9,300, with additional charges and exclusions. This is one dated example, not a price for every PASCAL pupil; request the applicable full quotation.
What is the difference between Island School and Trinity?
The IB directory lists Island’s Primary Years, Middle Years, Diploma and Career-related programmes. It lists Trinity’s Middle Years and Diploma programmes; Trinity’s Diploma authorisation dates from 13 March 2026. Check the programme and language available for your child’s stage.
